Where do the songs come from? Do they come from the creative imagination of the artist? From the inspiration above?

From where do these hymnsthat become universal come?

It is interesting to hear stories about some compositions and realize how the Spirits act on us.

They had good reason to respond to the Encoder of the Spiritist Doctrine that, usually, they are the ones who govern us.

The song title of the album of the same name, Bridge over troubled water, written by Paul Simon, has become one of the biggest successes of the dual Simon and Garfunkel, in 1970.

In a documentary shown as a Making of of the album, the composer expressed it thus:

I have no idea how the song was born. It came out of a sudden. It was one of the most shocking moments of my carrer as a lyricist.

I remember thinking: this is considerably better than I usually write.

He confessed he wrote the song with the aim of providing comfort to a person in difficulty.

But he himself felt that the initial lyrics were way too simple: When you’re weary, feeling small; when tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all.

Later, he realized that it was this simplicity that helped him to give the songa universal appeal.

For all of us who have sensibility, we can well understand that he speaks about the Father of love and goodness.

The bridge that lays down over the troubled waters of our difficulties, of our problems, Divine Providence that reaches us.

As well as the verses say:

When you are weary, feeling small; when tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all.

I am on your side, when times get rough and friends just cannot be found. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.

When you are down and out, when you are on the street, when evening falls so hard, I will comfort you.

I will take your part when darkness comes and pain is all around. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind.

Sail on Silver Girl. Sail on by. Your time has come to shine.

All your dreams are on their way.

See how they shine. And if you need a friend, I’m sailing right behind.

The song refers to the Divine Providence, to the care of God for each one of us.

No one who is abandoned. No one who is forgotten. The love of God watches over all.

And reminds us that we were born to shine, to achieve our best dreams, to reach flights of freedom, to win the infinite.

No restrains, no limits.

Let us think about it and about how God is infinitely wise and establishes that the good, the positive things, the truth are spoken by many mouths and in many ways.

By children in their innocence, by painters with their art, by the wise men with their discoveries, by singers with their music.
