ícone Two cherry trees

A curious scene on the edge of the path.

Two trees, two cherry trees planted in the flowerbed, near the sidewalk.

One of them is exuberant, full of red, brimming with life and attracting the attention of those passing by.

The other, however, is less than five steps away, with an absolutely opposite appearance, completely dry, withered, as if it were dead.

It causes strangeness to the eye of some, it causes pity to others, to look at those works of God, so unequally.

They are in the same soil, receive the same watering, the same sun, but so different from each other. An enigma.

Time, however, clarifies everything. Weeks pass, and the mystery is solved.

Whoever looks carefully notices that something has changed significantly: the beautiful cherry tree that was once in bloom is now bare, colorless.

And the one that once inspired pity is now dazzling and colorful.

Each had its time, each completed its annual cycle, at a different moment, and both brought beauty to the world in the same way.

The example of cherry trees is a lesson for the soul.

Each of us blossoms in our own time, when we reach the necessary conditions.

Children who grew up in the same home, receiving the same conditions for development, the watering of love, the discipline of pruning, the sun of attention, may blossom at different times.

Hardened-hearted companions, who are insensitive to the pain of others and who often turn the lives of those around them into utter chaos, will also blossom in their time.

Some may even remain as dry trees for one or several incarnations. Their flowering will come much later.

The weeks of the trees along the way are centuries, millennia, sometimes, for immortal souls.

Therefore, let us learn to care for and judge with maturity.

On some occasions, we act like the hurried driver who, upon observing the two very different trees, immediately concludes: One succeeded, the other didn't! Or even: One is alive, the other died.

Nature is far wiser than we imagine. It teaches us to wait and to know how to observe.

It is important that we be careful with the hasty labels. A tree that grows crooked can indeed straighten itself. In fact, it was born precisely for that purpose.

And even then, it was not born crooked by a whim of nature, but because it became crooked in the past.

Labels are dangerous. They hinder and do not help at all.

Everyone has a way. Everyone can bloom and will bloom. Perhaps just not in the time we expect or that the world demands.

Remembering the trees along the way, we learn from the wisdom of time. We look more often, watch the film and not only the photograph.

May nature continues to teach us and offer us this broad of view things.

Let us realize that in nature nothings is rushed, nothing is instantaneous. Everything is built, everything is conquered.

The Divine Laws that govern the worlds are wise. Let us learn from them.

And the next time we observe a tree without flowers or even a dry soul along the way, let us record the two cherry trees.
